Why I Travel Alone?

As I think back to the girl that nervously left the USA the first time, I can’t even begin to compare the difference until now.

“Sarah, don’t you get lonely always traveling alone?” I get asked countless times a day

Traveling alone in many cases does not actually mean that you are always alone. In fact it is far from the truth in my situation, especially given that I am staying with a host in every city.

This experience has challenged me to break out of my comfort zone and do things I might of never done if I were traveling with another person.

So why do I travel alone long term?

Here are my top reasons for taking this leap of faith alone:

Traveling alone is my preferred method. The insight and clarity gained from extended periods of silent observation mingled with heart-pounding plunges into new cultures makes for some irreplaceable personal development. Also, few of my friends can walk for as long as I can, so I get way more mileage this way 🙂

HAHA! I love it! Nicole, I spend the majority of my time lost…..I spend so much time asking random people for directions, so when you don’t have anyone to travel with, you always have random people from the street to ask! 🙂 You should try a trip alone….and when you do, write me a message and let me know how it goes! 🙂
